Past Hounds from QHK

This section devoted to hounds that were sold or passed away.

They may be gone but will never be forgotten.

We are very sad to have to announce to the coonhound world, that Hillbilly was struck and killed by an automobile ,while hunting the night of 3-10-03,He will truly be missed, but he died doing what he and I loved to do together.

GOOD-BYE, MY FRIEND
For a pat on the head, and my shout of "good boy",
You hunted with a passion--these woods were your toy.
You were king among coonhounds, and my pride and joy.

Even as the years wore on and the coons seemed quicker,
And these woods, once your paradise, appeared more thorny and thicker.

You pressed on relentlessly, refusing to rest.
Because it made you so proud when I called you the best.

So energetic, so strong....I never thought you'd die.
All the good times....to have to say good-bye.
So if I'm emotional here at the end,
Its because I've lost more than a coon dog.....I've lost a good friend.
